Help us to create bird box kits ready for children to build during our activities in February half term. You can make the kits at home if you have the wood and tools or alternatively we can arrange a time for you to come to Carymoor and we can provide everything you need.
Once you've signed up for the challenge we will send you a set of instructions and a template so you have the correct measurements to create the birdbox kit(s). We are happy to provide the wood if you don't have any at home you would like to use up. You are welcome to create the kit(s) at home in your shed, garage or on the kitchen table if you have all the tools you need, or if you would prefer to use our tools at Carymoor please let us know and we will arrange a time for you to visit.
Why get involved?
The bird box kits you create will help to raise awareness among the children and their families about conservation and the importance of providing and protecting homes for wildlife. Visiting families will assemble the birdboxes and take them home, helping to provide nesting opportunities for Blue Tits and Great Tits.
How to get involved?
Step 1: Sign up for an account or sign in and accept the challenge.
Step 2: We will email you the instructions and template.
Step 3: Please let us know where you would like to build the kits. If you'd like to pick up wood to use at home or to use our tools at Carymoor we will arrange a time for you to visit.
Step 4: Please bring the bird box kit(s) in to Carymoor by the end of January 2019. Thank you for your support!
